The Student Support Services Division (SSSD) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport is holding a free time management workshop entitled “Making Your Time Count” on Monday, September 24, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM.
This workshop is aimed at students in the last two years of secondary school and recent graduates and will be held at SSSD’s office which is located in the Amigo Building, across from the Police Station and next to the Windward Island Bank (WIB) in Philipsburg.
For many students time management can be a challenge and time lost cannot be regained. Some students may whine and complain that they do not have enough time to get done what needs to be done but SSSD is here to help.
“Time management is essential in anything that one does. It is even more important today with all the distractions that exist, such as multi-media, gaming and electronic devices. Managing your time can make a big difference between success and failure,” SSSD officials noted.
During this workshop, students will critically analyze aspects of their daily activities with the aim of being able to maximize or use their time more efficiently. Some tips and tools will also be highlighted so that students can get more out of life.
Students are urged to call the Student Support Services Division at Tel. 543-1235 to register for this workshop since space is limited. If parents or students have any questions on these workshops, they can contact the same number for more information. Workshop participants are urged to be on time and bring their own writing utensils.
The Student Support Services Division (SSSD) provides services to students referred by the schools such as psychological services, counseling services, social work services, educational diagnostic services, speech language pathology services. SSSD also provides general services such as career services, parent sessions and crisis response.
