There is no better way to start the school year 2016-2017 for students than with a smile on their faces. The Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise, in collaboration with Motorworld, distributed 800 school bags with school supplies to the Methodist Agogic Center (MAC) school at both locations, Browilia F. Maillard campus( St. Johns Estate)and Rev. John A Gumbs campus (Betty’s Estate).
The back to School Project has been a signature project of the Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise for the last five years headed by the immediate past president Ms. Marcellia Henry. Club President, Mrs. Okama Ekpe Brook, along with four other club members and Mr. Lorenzo Gomez, representing Motorworld, were present as the school assembly was being conducted at both campuses. During her speech, President Okama encouraged the children to do well and continue to give their best. Mr. Gomez also spoke to the kids and told them that to be good citizens they must do well in all grades and work hard always. He explained that MotorWorld is the local distributor for top auto brands like Hyundai, Honda, Jeep, Dodge and Chrysler and has a fully stocked parts department and full body shop, paint and garage.
There was an excitement among the students when they realized they were the recipients of the school bags. The students thanked The Rotary Club of St. Martin Sunrise and Motorworld for their generous donation.
