The suspects in this investigation are in custody. That term can last 10 days maximum and imprisonment is justified only as long as the investigation deems this necessary. The investigation consists mainly of interviews.
In the case of minors the point of departure is that they remain in custody for as short as possible.
When the interrogations are also in such an advanced stage that the interest of the investigation is no longer opposed to release, the custody is discontinued.
The minors remain suspects until such time that either the judge in the case has tackled the matter or whether or not under (criminal) conditions the Public Prosecutor’s Office has decided that the case will not be presented to the judge. We are not so far as yet.
For the suspects on Bonaire applies that the situation has not been reached, where continuation of the custody is no longer required.
