Exams ‘Vak-OvD’ CN Fire Department

In November 2014 the learning trajectory for the course Officer of Service CN(VAK-OvD) was commissioned by the Ministry of Security and Justice (V&J). This training is organized by the Fire Department Caribbean Netherlands in cooperation with and under the direction of the Fire Academy of the Institute for Physical Safety (IFV). Six participants from the Caribbean Netherlands, one from Curaçao, two from Aruba and 2 of St. Maarten participated in this course.
This week exams have been organized on Bonaire for the four core tasks of the function Vak-OvD CN. For these exams the examination commission of the IFV has been used, under chairmanship of mr. J. Molenaar along with four examinators from the Netherlands: G. Roumans, R. Polman, J. Huizing and B. Reijne. Director of the exams was mr. M. Crul, Implementation Manager at the Fire Department CN.
Apart from these regular Examination Commission, E. de Cuba (Fire Brigade commander Aruba), C. Richardson (Fire Brigade commander St. Maarten) and J. Tromp (general commander Fire Department CN), received training and helped out with the examination board. The intention is to work with a combined examination commission in the future for this course, with committee members from The Netherlands and from the region. Except for the exams, commanders from the region may be used to keep the skills of their trained Officers of Service up to date.
