ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board advised today that the technical staff of West Indies Under-19 team have specially invited a number of emerging local, junior players to assist with the two-week, Easter training camp in Barbados.
The specially invited players are opener Lee-Germon Gaskin, fellow batsman Akil Greenidge, wicketkeeper/batsman Leniko Boucher and left-arm fast bowling all-rounder Dominic Drakes. They will attend on specific days during the camp as needed.
The rest of the squad remains the same for the training camp which takes places from March 29 to April 11 at the West Indies High Performance Centre, located on the Cave Hill campus of the University of the West Indies. It forms part of the West Indies Under-19s’ preparations for the 2016 ICC Youth World Cup scheduled to take place next February in Bangladesh.
This is not the final squad for the ICC YWC, since there is still a chance for players to impress during the Regional Under-19 Tournament scheduled to take place from July 20 to August 16 in Jamaica.
