Minister of Education & Culture Hon. Patricia Lourens-Philip is very appreciative to the Police Force of Sint Maarten for their Back to School Backpacks.
144 Back to School Backpacks were prepared by the Sint Maarten Police Force for distribution to elementary school students who needed the assistance.
All school boards and subsequently their schools were notified in June and aside from two schools that received the school bags from an alternate source, eight schools (Rev. John A. Gumbs, Sr. Borgia, Sr. Regina, Helmin Snijders Campus, Charles Bell, Sr. Marie Laurence, Browlia F. Maillard Campus, and Seventh Day Adventist School) participated.
“The Police are not only law enforcers but have showed their softer side by making this project possible. This is the second consecutive year that the Police Force through their foundation has made the backpacks available,” Minister Patricia Lourens-Philip said on Sunday.
The project was coordinated by Veta Euson.
