St.Maarten Chamber Of Commerce & Industry Celebrates 35th Anniversary With Gala Event

The St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce & Industry will continue its 35th anniversary celebrations with a Gala event on Wednesday, May 7th 2014 at the Westin Dawn Beach Resort & Spa. The event begins at 7pm.

At the Gala, tribute will be paid to past Presidents and Executive Directors of the Chamber who will be presented with a token of appreciation for their dedicated service to the Chamber. A keynote address will be provided by Mr. Robertico Croes, Associate Director of the Dick Pope Sr. Institute for Tourism Studies at the Rosen College of Hospitality
Management, University of Central Florida, entitled: Exploring “smart” tourism pathways: the case for St. Maarten. After the presentations and keynote address guests will be invited to remain for a dance with music provided by the Control Band.

Invitations to the Gala have been sent out to various dignitaries and members of the business community. As well, interested parties may attend the Gala event by RSVP’ing to Mrs. Giselle York atg.york@chamberofcommerce.sx. Persons are urged to RSVP as seating for the event is severely limited.

The gala is the latest in a series of planned events celebrating the 35 years of the Chamber of Commerce’s existence. On March 12th the Chamber held a customer appreciation day complete with live music and food for members of the business community. At that event, the new Chamber 35th anniversary logo and building sign was unveiled in the presence of His Excellency Governor Eugene Holiday.

The Chamber also held a dinner for its Board of Directors and staff members to honor the service of Operations Managers Mrs. Ruth Patrick who has dedicated twenty-two plus years to the Chamber. At the dinner Mrs. Patrick was presented with a cruise travel voucher for her years of dedication.
