The Prime Minister of St. Maarten the Honorable Sarah Wescot-Williams announced yesterday that on Thursday, the 27th of February the Democratic Party of St. Maarten will be holding an event celebrating the ‘Read Thread’, the Party’s vision for moving St. Maarten forward.
The Prime Minister highlighted that there was much talk recently in the media, especially after an add appeared inviting party members at the event to be held on Thursday at six at the Sonesta Great Bay resort: "The Democratic Party’s advertisement in the daily newspapers has obviously generated a lot of curiosity. The event which will be held this Thursday is the DP’s fulfillment of a promise made to our members and to those expressing their desire to return to the fold of the Democratic Party. In December of 2013 the Party’s membership was clear in its support for the Party’s vision for "Moving St. Maarten Forward". The redefining and defining of the DP, as outlined in its meeting of December 2013, has taken on its first definite shapes and there are more to follow. This is what will be presented to the DP membership on Thursday evening at the Sonesta Great Bay Hotel scheduled to start at 6 pm. Again the focus will be on the DP’s new approach, which will be about quality above quantity, selfless service, young and upcoming politicians and their preparations to move this country forward. At Thursday’s event, the Party’s 2014 potential candidates, old and new, will also be present to celebrate The Red Thread," commented Wescot-Williams.
