Organizers of the 2013 Breakthrough talent search event this week announced that the winner of the vocals category, Kenyo Baly is unable to continue with the Breakthrough project due to commitments to school abroad.
Under the terms of the show’s agreement, the winners of all four categories must collaborate on a video recording. They must also make themselves available for various promotional spots as the faces of mobile provider, TelCell.
Since these activities require the presence of the winners on St. Maarten, Kenyo Baly and his parents have informed that he cannot guarantee that he can be on island when required, therefore, he will gladly give up the title to the next contestant in the vocals category who will now have the opportunity to collaborate with her fellow contestants.
News that she is now the winner of the vocals category has been warmly received by Ms. Thewet, who has already received a prize from the event organizers for being the most dedicated contestant.
"She has been rewarded for her positive attitude, perseverance and talent, and we very much look forward to working with her and the other winners for the year to come," said TelEm Group Breakthrough coordinator, Angel Richardson.
Ms. Richardson said all parties have been informed of the changes and Geniquah will begin filming and recording with the other winning contestants this week.
