In September, the health month, RCN organizes together with the public entity of Bonaire every weekend a cooking contest, with healthy food. On four Sundays in September, there are preliminary rounds in the neighborhood centers and on September, 29th 2013 a grand finale is held during the health market.
The idea of the healthy cooking contest originated at RCN/communication, this fits fine now in to the theme of the health month ‘ obesity ‘. By organizing this contest RCN would like to encourage inhabitants of Bonaire to prepare in a creative way a tasty and nutritious meal with healthy products . RCN is committed to this contest in collaboration with the community centers and public entity of Bonaire.
Preliminary rounds
Until now there have been two preliminary rounds, in Tera Kora on September 1st and in Rincon on September 8th .

The next priliminairy rounds are:
o Avanti, September 15th, (for the neighbourhood Antriol)
o Noord Saliña, September 22th
The winners and finalists can win healthy prizes and trophies. It is still possible to register for participation in the preliminary round in Noord Saliña. This can be done through the neighborhood center. All those interested are welcome on September 15th and 22nd between 16.00 and 20.00 hours in the neighborhood Center.
Finals during health market
On Sunday September 29th the health month, which has the theme ‘ obesity ‘, is closed with a health market. During this health market the finals of the cooking contest take place.
Participants in the final are the winners and 1st finalists of the preliminary rounds. In addition, from the group from of 2nd finalist and the winners of the creative price 2 finalists are drawn. These 10 participants compete against each other for the grand prize.
Health market
On Sunday September 29th the health month is closed with a health market and a " Siclovia" with sports activities. The slogan of this is:
Bo salú den balansa:
"Uni forsa i konosementu, ban traha huntu pa un Boneiru salú"
In this market all kinds of organizations will take part, they will give demonstrations on their activities and/or products. This includes health and prevention, exercise and sports, healthy food and drinks, physical therapy, medical authorities, agriculture, etc.
There are also fun activities for children, making the market fun and interesting to visit with the whole family.
