Advancing Women’s Soccer Through Developing Female Players and Coaches

Representatives of the St. Maarten Soccer Association and Oualichi Women’s Soccer Team will be attending the CONCACAF coach-training course in Aruba this week. The CONCACAF organization, which is the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football, is hosting a four-day coach-training course in Aruba and have invited and sponsored the two soccer players to attend.
The course will take place from the 12th until the15th of September and will give the attendees the necessary skills to coach the sport of soccer. Ms. Dagmar Daal of the Oualichi Women’s Soccer Team and Mr. Manuel Fontana will be representing St. Maarten. The Sint Maarten Soccer Association has expressed pride for not only having a male participant represent St. Maarten but also a female to participate at the training. The Board of the Oualichi Women’s Soccer team is also elated that this opportunity is presented and made possible by CONCACAF and further strengthens the vision of the Oualichi Women’s Soccer Team Association to continue to advance women’s soccer on the island through not only developing female soccer players but also female soccer coaches. In the coming month’s three additional players from Oualichi WST will also attend a Coach Training Workshop to be given on St. Maarten.
