On Thursday August 5th in the morning hours a student of the Sint Maarten Academy PSVE was injured by a homemade plastic bottle bomb.
This bomb, which can be made with different chemicals available at any supermarket, was thrown possibly by another student. When the bomb exploded the victim suffered a superficial wound to his face and his body. He was treated on the scene by paramedics. The parent of the victim was notified. The entire premises of the school were searched by police. The remains of the plastic bottle bomb were found and confiscated for further investigation. At this time no one has been arrested as a suspect in this case.
