Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports Hon. Patricia Lourens-Philip would like to thank social service clubs, businesses and other entities that have donated school bags and other school materials to the country’s schools.
"This effort is commendable because it shows community solidarity as well as corporate social responsibility and giving back to your community. Every business and organization should develop such policies as these initiatives can go a long way and do make a difference in the lives of those that receive the assistance," Minister Hon. Patrcia Lourens-Philip said on Tuesday.
Minister Lourens-Philip would also like to express her gratitude to the Community Police Officers for their assistance and role that they play where it concerns the safety of students in and around schools.

The St. Dominic High School recorded a 100 per cent college passing rate at this year’s CSEC and Cambridge IGCSE. Students who sat the CSEC examination received grades one to three in at least five of the subjects and many did exceptionally well.
Four students from the Community Tutoring Foundation (CTF), who sat the General Education Diploma (GED) exams electronically performed extremely well.
"I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the St. Maarten Academy, St. Dominic High School and the Community Tutoring Foundation on their student’s successes with exams.
"After much hard work, the results are there to see, and after much effort and dedication you have succeeded, and now you can move on to the next phase. Congratulations once again and much success as you move forward on your educational journey," Minister of Education Hon. Patricia Lourens-Philip said on Tuesday.
