Volleyball action took place this weekend at the Salle Omni sport in Galisbay Marigot. Six islands contested the ECVA Jr. Male under 19 Championship.
Host French Saint Martin (FSM), Dutch St. Maarten (SXM), St. Lucia (SLU), Anguilla (AGU), Dominica (DCA), and the British Virgin Islands (BVI).
St. Lucia played a very good game and it showed with their first place finish. Host French St. Martin got second place and Dutch St. Maarten third place.
The winner of these games are eligible to take part in the Continental Championships slated for 2014.
MVP of the tournament went to SLU as well as the best receiver; best setter and best scorer awards.
The best Libero and best blocker went to Dutch St. Maarten and the best server and best defensive player went to French St. Martin.
SIMVA would like to Congratulate the French side Volleyball Association the LVBIN for a well hosted tournament and also to congratulate both Dutch and French St. Maarten teams on their third and second place finishes in the ECVA Jr. Male under 19 Championship. It was a very good three days of volleyball action filled with fun and great competition between the youths. From the outcome we can see that the sport of volleyball is once again on the rise on St Maarten both Dutch and French side. Good Job and keep up the good work.
