To celebrate the launch of CalaClassics and CalaWeather, provided by LORAC Communications Inc., St. Maarten Cable TV is inviting the public to a CalaClassics and CalaWeather Celebration at the Madame Estate main office.
St. Maarten Cable TV recently added the two television channels to its lineup. Both channels are wholly owned and operated by LORAC Communications Inc. CalaWeather (Ch. 150), which is part of the Solid Gold package and replaced One Caribbean Weather, is a channel dedicated 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to the weather throughout the Caribbean and Central America. CalaClassics (Ch. 258), in the Bronze package, features classical shows and commercials from the golden ages of entertainment. It is considered to be the "true classic television channel".
"In May at the National Cable and Television Association convention in Washington D.C., CalaWeather informed us that they started a segment that features characteristics of each island in the Caribbean. The first feature for St. Maarten, which is currently being aired, focuses on the landing of airplanes on our airport runway", Ms. Jonis informed.
"This week a series of activities took place with these channels and will conclude with the event on August 2, 2013,"Beulah Jonis, Managing Director of St. Maarten Cable TV, mentioned. "On July 30, 2013, the St. Maarten Cable TV Customer Service Team participated in training provided by LORAC on these new channels and also provide refresher training on other channels featured on our channel line-up," Jonis added.
St. Maarten Cable TV, together with LORAC, presented 22 CalaClassics bags to the "I Can Foundation", which houses children ranging in age from 3 years old to 16 years old. Robyn McHaffie, a representative from LORAC, was impressed with the work the foundation does by teaching the children how to be responsible through gardening and farming amongst other important life skills.
On Friday, August 2, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., St. Maarten Cable TV will be celebrating CalaClassics and CalaWeather. New customers will receive a CalaClassics shoulder bag. Also, every customer who makes a payment on Friday at the Madame Estate office will be able to select one of 100 prizes from our raffle bin.
Existing cable TV subscribers will also have the opportunity to win five (5) of the bags by visiting the St. Maarten Cable TV Facebook from July 30 to August 2 and liking the Cala Channel. We encourage the community to come out and celebrate with us!
