Reminder: inspections of busses to start July 8
School Bussing and Taxi Dispatching Inspection Department of Economic Affairs, would like to thank the public for their cooperation during the 2012-2013 school year in making busing of school children a safe one as the school year comes to an end on Friday, June 28.
The Department will continue to ensure a safe, reliable and comfortable transportation for school children.
"Another school year comes to an end this Friday. The Department would like to thank the school busses and students for their cooperation and looks forward to more continued support during the upcoming new school year.
"The Inspection Department who is also responsible for the Traffic Controllers and Inspectors who are visible during the peak morning hours, would also like to thank the public at large for their cooperation when they approach school zones.
"School bussing was faced with some behavior problems during the past few months and would like to ask the parents and guardians to continue to encourage their child/ren to behave on the bus.
"The Department would also like the public to be observant that although school is out and summer is in, a number of children will be using the school bus for their summer camp excursions, therefore motorists should remain vigilant on the public roads.
"Thank you to the school principals as well for their cooperation throughout the school year, and on behalf of the department, wishing the principals, teachers and staff a happy and safe holiday season," School Bussing and Taxi Dispatching Inspection Department of Economic Affairs.
School bus inspections are scheduled to start July 8 through July 10 known as the early bird inspections, and the regular inspections are set from July 22 through July 25. School bus owners and drivers are hereby advised to take note of the dates.
