KINGSTON, Jamaica – West Indies will be without their regular captain Dwayne Bravo and fast bowler Ravi Rampaul when they face against India in the second match of the Celkon Mobile Cup Series on Sunday at Sabina Park.
The pair sustained injuries on Friday during the first match of the Series, when the Windies beat Sri Lanka by six wickets at the same venue.
Bravo and Rampaul had scans on Saturday evening which revealed the full extent of the injuries.
Bravo has a slight groin strain. He is expected to be fit for the second leg of the Series next week in Trinidad.
Rampaul suffered a sprained left ankle while bowling and is expected to be out of action for three weeks. He will return to Trinidad to continue his rehabilitation.
In Bravo’s absence, Kieron Pollard will lead the West Indies for the first time in an international match.
