TEMPO Networks founder and CEO Mr. Frederick A. Morton Jr. loves St. Maarten – So much so that he is planning to host the company’s "Special" 7th birthday celebration in a week-long event right here in November.
The Tempo boss was persuaded by St. Maarten Senator, Mr. Romaine Laville to choose St. Maarten after considering what other Caribbean islands and destinations had to offer.
In the end the special relationship that Tempo has been developing with St. Maarten/St. Martin during the past months through the hard work of local Tempo representative, Mr. Peter Gittens, paid off with a commitment from the government of St. Maarten to stage the Tempo Turns 7 event on St. Maarten.
The announcement was officially made by Minister of Economic Affairs, Transport and Telecommunications Mr. Romeo Pantophlet during a press conference in the Dr. A.C. Wathey Legislative Hall on Monday, September 24.
Minister Pantophlet presented Tempo with a check to the amount of $20,000 from TelEm Group in support of the event and announced that another $25,000 has already been sent to Tempo by the Harbour Group of Companies who is also supporting government in the hosting of the Tempo Turns 7 event.
Minister Pantophlet also presented Tempo with a complimentary T-shirt donated by young St. Maarten entrepreneurs Lee Dominique and Rae Dominique of the newly formed BaySide Clothing Company.
The pair said they were "thrilled" to be presenting the iconic message to Mr. Tempo himself especially since he has been a great inspiration to them.
"Mr. Morton Jr. has shown us in the Caribbean that we can also dream big dreams and make them happen if we are committed in what we do, if we remain passionate in what we want to achieve and most of all, if we make it a mission make hard work fun," they continued.
Both thanked Mr. Morton for accepting the Tee and also for some inspirational words, which they appreciate as words of wisdom as they continue to develop their own lifestyle brand.
During the press conference Mr. Morton Jr. outlined his search for the best destination to host the special event and also commented on the "remarkable talent" that he has found on St. Maarten and would like to expose.
The Tempo boss hinted at closer relations with St. Maarten/St. Martin even after the event is staged in November, with the possibility of officially announcing a Tempo branch on St. Maarten itself.
