"Whenever we can use our affiliation with a programmer, which in this case is Golf Channel, and foundations that are making a difference in our community, we reach out to the programmers and most of the time they are more than willing to assist", Beulah Jonis, Managing Director of St. Maarten Cable TV stated.
"Thanks to the sustained support of our sponsors and the Mullet Bay Golf Course we are now entering our 8th year of bringing the sport of golf to St. Maarten youth with no fees", Volunteer coach Jim Rosen remarked.
The Junior Golf Foundation of St. Maarten has classes every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at the Emilio Wilson Estate from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. for children from ages 7 to 15. Currently the program has 40 students and the coordinators anticipate that they will have 60 students by the end of the month. The first show is called School of Golf on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. The subject of golf is taught by Martin Hall. Each week the assignment is to improve your game. Along with teaching assistant, Holly Sonders, Martin covers everything from tee to green while answering viewer questions. Another interesting program appears on Golf Channel on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. It’s provides subscribers with the chance to learn golf from some of the finest players to ever play the game including hall-of-famers Greg Norman, Annika Sorenstam, Lanny Wadkins and Tony Jacklin.
