On Saturday April 14th at approximately 08.30 p.m. a Philipsburg police patrol was directed to a home on Apricot road for a robbery that was taking place at that same time.
On the scene the investigating officers learnt that the three suspects had already fled. The two victims with initials L.L. and L.H. from China stated that they were attacked by the suspects as the entered their premises. The suspects then tried to take both victims hostage in order to take them into their home and rob them. The victims resisted heavily not allowing the suspects to take them hostage. The police was notified by the children who were in the home at the time and had taken notice of what was going on. After the suspects noticed that they were unsuccessful in their attempt all three fled the scene on foot. On the scene the police also found, duct-tape, handcuffs and gloves which would be used during the robbery. These items were confiscated and handed over to the Special Robbery Unit for further investigation.
