On Saturday February 4th the RBC school baseball tournament hosted by the St. Maarten Little League came to a close with the presentation of awards by Mr. Wayne Kowlesar of RBC bank.
The awards consisted of trophies winning schools and medals for all players, coaches and other
officials.
The tournament started in October and consisted of 9 teams in the elementary division and 6 teams in the secondary division.
The standings results are as follows:
Elementary schools division:
Methodist Agogic Center – Champion
Dr. Martin Luther King – Sub-Champion
Ruby Labega Primary – 3rd place
Hillside Christian School – 4th place
Secondary schools division
MPC Baves -Champion
St. Maarten Academy -Sub-Champions
Mixed School -3rd Place
Saturday was a very enjoyable as schools, parents, family and fans came out to cheer on their
favorite teams.
St. Maarten Little League extends special thank you the RBC bank for their continues support for
the school tournament. Thank you also to participating schools and their coaches as well as
families and friends.
The tournament will take place the latter part of this year again.

The final game saw MPC Braves scoring 3 runs in the 1st and 2 runs in the 2nd innings
totalling 5 runs. PSVE scored 1 run in the 2nd inning. Both teams played very well by
stopping further runs from scoring. Credit goes to the pitchers of both sides as they
stopped runners from reaching base after that by the number of strike-outs thrown.
Not forgetting also the support from the defense.
The tournament closed on Saturday February 4th with the following standings in secondary division:

From the beginning of the game Methodist Agogic center showed that they
came to win the tournament. They scored 2 runs in the 1st, 4 in the 3rd
and 5 in the 4th innings. Jaylen Constance pitched his heart out and batted 3-4
as he lead his team to victory. The defense also displayed exceptionally well
backing up their pitcher. Martin Luther king team tried to fight back but they just could not
shut down the MAC. The game ended 11-3 in favor of MAC school to win the tournament.

Ruby Labega meant business when they faced Hillside Christian school as they captured
3rd place. Of the 15 outs for Hillside Christian school 13 were strike out. Runners that
did get on base were not allowed to score as Ruby Labega flawless defense came
through for them.
