Vehicle malfunctions and overturned

 

On Tuesday, November 22nd at approximately 09.15 a.m. a police patrol was directed to Point Blanche on the road leading to Monte Vista to investigate a traffic accident in which one man was injured. On the scene the patrol spoke to the victim in the case the man with initials S.G. The victim who had numerous bruises to his body and a cut to his left foot stated that while driving down the hill the brakes on his vehicle with license plate M-2839 malfunctioned and he could not stop the vehicle. Seeing how serious the situation became and he had lost control of the vehicle he jumped out. The vehicle which had gained quite some speed hit the side of the hill and overturned several times. The vehicle then came to a stop on the cliff looking over the Point Blanche. The victim was treated on the scene by paramedics and then taken to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further treatment. The vehicle in question was severally damaged and had to be removed by a towing truck. No one else was injured in this case.
