On Tuesday, November 22nd at approximately 08.45 a.m. police patrols and Fire Department were directed to Burger King in Cole Bay for a fire. On the scene the investigating officers saw a lot of smoke coming from the kitchen of the establishment. The firefighters immediately went to work in putting out the blaze. The manager on the scene stated that when the deep fryer was turned on for unknown reasons short-circuited and caught fire. The blaze became uncontrollable and the fire department was called in. The deep fryer was completely destroyed and the inside of the business suffered minor smoke damage as a result of the fire. No one was injured.
