Volleyball action continued on Monday night at the L. B. Scot Sports Auditorium with match 2 of the series between Guess Who and Super Six in the women’s category and UNited and Reptiles in the men’s division.
In the first match of the evening Guess who needed 1 hour and 6 minutes to win 3 sets to zero against Super Six. Eventhough Guess Who was not in their usual form they still managed to beat Super Six easily. Super Six seemed to be completely out of sync and only seemed to recuparate in the second and third sets but still in a losing effort. The partial of the match were 25-9, 25-17 and 25-15.

In the men’s match the fans were again treated to a heart stopping five setter between who have become arch rivals United and Reptiles. Reptiles as promised came back to win the second match of the finals series and started early by winning the first two sets 25-15 and 25-15. United men seemed disoriented and were making a lot of unforced errors. Blocks by Reptiles Rotilio Richardson shut down center hitter of United Gary King and had coach Rhoda Arrindell wondering what to do next.
In the second set United seemed to get a dose of confidence and came back fighting tooth and nails for every point. United won the third and fourth set with the scores 25-21 and 26-24 forcing the tie breaker.
In the fifth set United was on the brink of victory when the score was 15-12 to find out that they had served out of rotation and end up losing the serve and the point made bringing the score to 14-13 for United. United still had a chance to win but their big hitter number 2 Riegmar Valies spiked a ball that went sailing way out allowing Reptiles to tie at 14-14. The battle continued but Monday night was not United’s night, they still end up losing 16-18 to Reptiles. Again the fans were not dissapointed in the great show of resilience and perseverance displayed by both teams.
Now the men’s finals series is tied at 1 a piece. The finals continues with match 3 on Saturday December 4, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. the women’s series will most probably end on Saturday unless Super Six has a miracle comeback.
