The Police traffic department investigating a traffic accident that took place on 17 September 2019 about 07:45 am on the crossing Walter J. Nisbeth Road en de N. Debrot Steet whereby an pedestrian was injured. According to the information gathered at the scene, the drive of a car P-109 had given a pedestrian a chance to cross the street in the area of the Central Bank.
At the same time a rider of a Yamaha motorbike was overtaking the vehicle and collided with the pedestrian. Because of the collision , the pedestrian suffered bruises and laceration on her arm head and stomach. After the collation with the pedestrian, the driver of the Yamaha Motorbike lost control and collided with the vehicle P-109. The rider suffered injury to his body. Both victims were treated at the scene by the Ambulance Department and later transported to the Sint Maarten Medical Center for further medical care .This into this accident investigation is ongoing.
