Minister of Public Housing, Environment, Spatial Development and Infrastructure (VROMI), the Honorable Christopher Wever praised retiring civil servant Patrick Lloyd for his commitment to serving the people of St. Maarten for 44-years.
Lloyd received a special sendoff from his colleagues in the Ministry of VROMI where he has performed a wide range of services since he started working back in 1975.
A special event was organized at the Government Administration building on Friday last week to honor Lloyd for his years of service.
Wever said on Sunday that the Civil Servants of our country have “a difficult job” of meeting expectations and satisfying the general service needs of the entire community.
At the time of his retirement, Lloyd was the longest-serving Civil Servant in the VROMI Department. “It is for me a great honor and privilege to personally extend the sincere thanks of a grateful nation to a man who has dedicated more than half of his life to his country,” said Wever.
He said, “I want to thank the family of Mr. Lloyd for lending him to us at the Ministry of VROMI for service to St. Maarten for forty-four years. I wish him the very best as he turns the next chapter in his life and pursues new avenues,” said Wever.
Wever said the work Civil Servants do must never go unnoticed as their service impacts the lives of many people and organizations.
