The first St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce & Industry (COCI) “Grow Your Business with COCI Workshop,” 2019 Training Courses Series that took place on August 29, was a huge success leading to a full house of over 50 individuals. The presenter was Edsel Gumbs, a Loan Officer at Qredits whose presentation was about the Loan Acquisition Technique.
“The workshop went really well. It was a very dynamic session, intensive, informative, and at the end of the session everyone got a certificate. The facilitator was on point. It was a very clear and interactive presentation.
“We had a mixture of entrepreneurs in attendance, from seasoned businesspersons, to startups. Everybody had the opportunity to learn from each other and they are looking forward to the next one.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire COCI team that made this workshop a reality especially Venecia Herbert and Nicolas Dorset. We are looking forward to organizing the next one in September and we expect it to attract a lot of interests,” Anastacio Baker, COCI Executive Director said.
Gumbs spoke about acquiring a business loan and addressed the main questions of the loan procedure process; start-up cost calculation; financial projection; loan security; about the market; management and staff; and how to manage your taxes and finances.
The COCI grow by learning training courses are crucial for personal and professional business development and an opportunity for individuals to acquire new skills, improve their existing knowledge and abilities which allows them to continue to grow their business in a sustainable manner.
A workshop will be organized once a month with the next one scheduled for September 26 about the legal system for businesses to be facilitated by Attorney Jason Rogers.
