SZV STARTS MONTHLY WORKSHOPS FOR COMPANIES ON EMPLOYEE REGISTRATION

With the success of last year’s employer’s workshops and ongoing demand for such, SZV has decided to introduce free monthly workshops for employers starting Wednesday February 27th. The workshops will take place every last Wednesday of the month up until November at the SZV offices from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm. The workshop offered is a hand’s-on training of how to accurately fill in the form, in the various scenarios of employee commencement, mutation and termination. Employers only need to participate in one workshop to benefit from the training. Each workshop opportunity has a limited capacity; employers are urged to secure their spot for a workshop date via online registration at www.szv.sx.

SZV has encountered that the forms are regularly incorrectly filled in and employers in turn have experienced the inconvenience of the back-and-forth at SZV office because of this. Regarding registration and mutations of employees to SZV the ZV/OV law indicate the following:
– All employees must be registered at SZV no matter their salary amount or amount of working days/hours. The salary amount and/or amount of working days will determine if the employee will be insured for both medical insurance (ZV) and accident insurance (OV) or only for accident insurance (OV).
– Employee mutations regarding commencement and termination must be submitted to SZV within two days in which the change occurred. A fine may be issued for late submissions.
– Employee mutations regarding changes in employment such as, salaries and functions should be submitted monthly, before the 15th of the following month in which the change occurred. A fine may be issued for late submissions.

During the workshop, employers can request access to the online employer portal. Via the portal, the monthly ZV/OV declarations can be submitted online. Later this year, SZV plans to implement online mutation form submission.
Employers who participated in the 2018 series indicated that the workshop was useful and they were able to receive one-on-one feedback to their questions. The workshops offered by SZV are free for all registered companies at SZV. In order for employees to receive their medical insurance card from SZV, the process starts by the employer. Employers must ensure that their company and employees are properly registered. Employers must submit the mutation forms to SZV directly; this is not the responsibility of the employee. SZV cannot issue a medical insurance card to an employee if the submitted information is incorrect. An overview of the general Employer obligations is available on SZV’s website www.szv.sx.
