On Friday November 9th representatives of four major concrete suppliers on the island namely A-Top concrete, Sint Maarten Concrete, Central Mix Concrete and Simple concrete met with CPO/Inspector Helen Romeo and Sergeant Sidney van Bosse from the Police Traffic Department. The meeting was to discuss serious issues regarding the concrete spills on or on the side of the public roads. This spills causes serious damage to the streets and also to other vehicles using the same street.
Topics such as how to prevent these spills from happening and if it does happen how to have it cleared and cleaned up immediately were discussed along with many others topics.
The concrete suppliers have jointly come to the agreement that on Saturday November 17th between 07.00 a.m. and 10.00 a.m. under the supervision of the Department of VROMI and KPSM a clean-up of these spills will take place.
The concrete suppliers look forward to a follow-up meeting with VROMI and KPSM
