On Saturday, May 26th 2018 around 7:15 PM, a fire in a hotel located on Oranjebaaiweg, St. Eustatius was reported thru 911. The Fire department was immediately dispatched.
On location there was black smoke coming from the hotel in question and the road was blocked as a safety precaution for both pedestrians and traffic. One hotel guest indicated that she suffered from smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital for a checkup.
The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire and an investigation is being conducted to identify the exact cause of the fire.
