CPS needs volunteers to help control and beat the mosquito population

The Collective Preventive Services (CPS) Vector Control Unit, a government department under the Ministry of Public Health, Social Development and Labour, is in search of community volunteers to help control the mosquito population in the country.

A collective responsibility exists to protect the population.  In the aftermath of hurricane Irma combined with periods of heavy rainfall thereafter, this has resulted in an increase in the mosquito population in the country.

Volunteers will assists CPSs Vector Control Unit personnel who will embark upon vector control activities within the districts.  Interested persons are encouraged to register.

If you are interested in signing up, you can email: ve************@si************.org or call 543-7821, 542-1573, 542-1222, or 542-1322 to sign up and/or for additional information.

Those who are interested in signing up can also visit CPS Office at the Vineyard Office Park Complex in Philipsburg.
Those who register to be a community volunteer will receive training which starts on Monday, December 11. Do you want to make a difference and help your community, sign-up today.

Mosquito borne disease such as Zika, Chikungunya or Dengue are a threat to the community.  An increase in the mosquito population puts residents at risk.

Let us collectively help control the mosquito increase by becoming a volunteer.
