St. Martin’s Day Cultural Parade

The St. Martin’s Day Cultural Parade will once again take place this year to bring culture and arts for spectators to enjoy on November 11th 2017. The parade begins at 2 pm with nineteen troupes and individuals participating in the parade. Music will be provided by Bottleneck Crew, New Generation Status Band STM, DJ Pauly, Ebony Steel Orchestra, DJ EZ Rick and the Jolly Boys. The parade will begin at the area of the Festival Village, then continue to the Salt Pickers Roundabout where it will turn right onto Walter Nisbeth Road. It will continue down Walter Nisbeth and then turn left at what is commonly called the “Old Van Dorp, make another left at the intersection of Real Auto to make it ways through Down Street and turn onto Front Street. The parade will go up the entire Front Street and then make a left at Emmaplein, pass Jump Up Casino and continue on to Cannegieter Street (pass Afoo Supermarket and the Sister Borgia School) straight up to N.V GEBE where it will make a right back onto Walter Nisbeth Road and head back to the Salt Pickers Roundabout. When the parade has ended, the cultural groups will make their way to the stage and perform a 1 hour cultural manifestation for all to enjoy. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport is urging the public to please take heed of the road closures as a result of the parade especially on Front Street and the Cannegieter Street where it is very important that cars do not park on these streets to enable the parade to pass freely on these streets.
