Little Miss St. Maarten /St. Martín Pageant 2017 Registration Now Open”

Registration is now open for girls, ages 7 to 12, to take part in the popular Little Miss St. Maarten/ St. Martín Pageant 2017, said Nzinga Lake, Pageant organizer.

Following the victorious win of Little Miss St. Maarten/ St. Martín Queen 2012-2013, Kiara Meyers capturing the prestigious title of Junior Minister Competition 2017 in May, parents repeatedly contacted Lake for information about the Little Miss St. Maarten/ St. Martin Pageant, causing the pageant founder to open the registration process on June 7th.

Registration will run until August 4 for the Pageant, which is scheduled to take place on St. Maarten/ St. Martín’s Day, November 11, 2017, said Lake.

“For the past five years, I announced the start of registration in August but over the last year more parents and school directors have been telling me that the August registration did not give them enough time to prepare their daughters in particular and students in general to participate in the Little Miss St. Maarten / St. Martín Pageant,” said Lake.

With the 2017, mid-year school vacation approaching, “parents can start early to discuss the pageant with aspiring contestants. There will be much more time to prepare their budget, sponsorship letters, and the princess wear. A few parents have already started the process” said Lake.

The pageant is an island-wide event “for the St. Maarten/ St. Martín calendar, and the main idea for the beauty and talent contest is twofold,” said Lake.

“Firstly, the pageant looks to serve as a motivational event and to inspire positive activities for young girls. Secondly, the pageant honors the traditional sense of unity of the whole island of St. Maarten/St. St. Martín said Lake.

“I would also like to take this opportunity on behalf of the Little Miss St. Maarten/ St. Martín organization to congratulate Ms. Kiara Meyers for instilling the values and mission of the pageant and for making our organization, community, school, families, friends extremely proud of her accomplishments in education and being a graceful ambassador to our island.” said Lake
