TelEm Group gives back to customers, SXM community in June

The month of June is turning out to be a very busy month of donations and contributions to the community from the TelEm Group of companies.

In this month alone, the company has assisted towards the staging of a Gospel Concert, supported a softball team tournament in Curacao, helped to launch a Parkinson’s Foundation on St. Maarten and also joined the No Limit Band to put on a celebration for Father’s Day this year.

The company’s corporate citizenry for June also extended to assisting the Lion’s Club of St. Maarten with the installation of a new board, and the Immigration Social Club in its bid to arrange events for its membership.

According to TelEm Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Mrs. Helma Etnel, while the donations and contributions are only a fraction of what the company gives back to the St. Maarten community each year, the diversity and range of donations during the month of June were “quite interesting”.

“Religion, sport, the youth, service clubs, education, culture,  all were represented, showing how we respond to the needs of our community when we can,” said Mrs. Etnel.

The CFO says the more the community supports the company as valued customers, the more the company can in turn give back to  its customers and the St. Maarten community generally.

“We cannot always help everyone, but it’s very satisfying to know that what help we can give stretches across the board,” said Mrs. Etnel.
