Road works commence on Long Wall Road up until Sunday

Ministry of Public Housing, Environment, Spatial Development and Infrastructure (Ministry VROMI), announces that road works have commenced on the Long Wall Road on March 10 and will continue through Sunday.  These works will be carried out between 8.00AM and 5.00PM.

 

The civic works entail laying of utility lines and the painting of one road crossing.

 

Due to these works, Long Wall Road will be closed on Friday, March 11, from 8.00AM to 5.00PM.

Traffic detours are as follows: motorists commuting from the Prins Bernard bridge will not be able to make the right turn on to Long Wall Road, and motorists commuting from A. Th. Illidge Road will not be able to continue on to the Long Wall Road.

Motorists will have to travel along the Walter Nisbeth Road. Traffic coming from C.A. Cannegieter Street//Kerkhof Street will also have to utilize the Walter Nisbeth Road in their commute.

 

Motorists and especially pedestrians, should be alert of the works that are taking place in the aforementioned area as there will be use of heavy machinery and trench works executed on the sidewalk.
