Beacon Hill Road cleared on Wednesday from beach sand obstruction

Ministry of Public Housing, Environment, Spatial Development and Infrastructure (Ministry VROMI), brought in contractor Windward Roads between 6.30am and 7.00am on Wednesday morning, to remove sand from the Beacon Hill road that was as a result of overnight heavy sea surge.

The Police Department assisted with traffic control.  Both sides of the road were cleared of sand.

The area is being monitored by Ministry VROMI in the event that the road is made inaccessible again due to the heavy sea surge.

Should this happen, motorists are advised not to attempt to drive through the sand which could result in their vehicle getting stuck.
