Christmas message from National Alliance

“A song was heard at Christmas. To wake the midnight sky. A Savior’s birth and a peace on earth and praise to God on high.” – Gogo Antoniou

Ladies and gentlemen, fellow St. Maarteners; with that greeting, the board of National Alliance brings you best wishes for this Holy Season of Christmas.

It’s that time of year when family and friends think about Christmas and what plans they have for the holidays with their loved ones. As we reflect on this wonderful holiday, for many, Christmas is a time for giving, Christmas is a time for sharing and for expressing with words and gifts what someone means to you. But most of all, Christmas is supposed to be the time of year where we celebrate the birth of Christ.

Christmas is the time of year where God entered our world. Therefore the reason for the season is supposed to be centered on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The meaning is supposed to be a recognition and appreciation of the birth of the one who loves us and died for us. Thus may we be ever mindful of the spirit of caring, sharing, love and generosity that the Christmas season brings.

Christmas has become one of the busiest times of the year, sometimes requiring a lot of fanfare and fuss. But t he very essence of Christmas is built on the message of both faith and hope. St. Maarten is a proud nation with a rich legacy with which we all can be proud of, so as we observe this season of Christmas, let us deepen our faith in our God and our nation, and let us move forward together as one people, one island, and one nation.

Let us remember tis a time for cherishing those who bring so many blessings to our lives. As citizens of this great nation, may your heart feel that love this season and throughout the New Year. We wish you a very happy holiday season and incoming year filled with peace, joy, productivity and prosperity.

Season’s Greetings
