More than 26 families receive boxes of food courtesy of the NAGICO Lend A Hand Food Drive

Twenty six families from communities across the island were presented with boxes of food, Christmas ham and turkey courtesy of the NAGICO Insurances Food Drive.

The project which was initiated under our Umbrella Campaign: ‘Lend a Hand’, is an annual event which is in its third year running. Each year; marked green containers are placed at NAGICO locations Island wide and canned food and non-perishable items are collected.

“Each year from as early as the first week of November we place our food bins at strategic locations and ask our staff, agents, brokers and clients to support our Food Drive so that we can help to put smiles on the faces of the less fortunate,” Lisa Brown; Jr. Marketing Manager of NAGICO Insurances explained. “This year we were not able to cover as much ground but the results were still remarkable. We collected and donated 26 boxes of food, 10 Christmas hams and 10 turkeys to families recommended by the Community Police Officers in various districts.”

The Food Drive is collaboration between the Community Police Officers and NAGICO to help bring joy to persons who are less fortunate in the various communities on the island.

“We are not only here to protect, but also to serve and what better way to offer service than to partner with the private sector on projects that uplift the community and our residents,” Carl John; Chief of Police said. “The CPOs who services their respective districts interacts with these people on a daily basis, so they are aware of their plight, so they submitted a list of names to NAGICO and assisted in the distribution of these boxes of food to the recommended family. This is one of the many ways that we try to be involved in our community and to work with our partners for the greater good.”
