Child benefit provision in the Caribbean Netherlands as of 2016

Pre-registration starts

 

In 2016 child benefit provision will start in The Caribbean Netherlands. This is a financial contribution by Central government to the cost for the livelihood of children from 0 to 18 years. . Every parent or guardian of children in the age of 0 till 18 years old is entitled to child benefit provision. The payment of this contribution for ca. 5000 children in Caribbean Netherlands is done by Social Affairs and Labor CN. In order to get this contribution paid, it is necessary that parents or guardians of children register. To this end, from the end of November to mid-December special pre-registration days are organized on all three islands. In 2016 the tax reduction for children will end, that is why it is important for anyone with children from 0 to 18 years to register.

 

What should someone do to get child benefit paid?

Parents or guardians of children aged from 0 to 18 years, who are living in their home and are officially registered on their address, can get child benefit paid. That is why it is important that the data of the household and the address information at the census office are correct. At the website www.rijksdienstcn.com/kinderbijslag

an application form can be found, that one can print out and fill out at home. The form can also be picked up at one of the offices of RCN, SZW, the Belastingdienst, Center for Youth and Family or the census office of the Public Entity.

 

Come to the pre-registration days and take the following with you:

• the completed application form child benefit

• your ID card

• your bank account number

• if you have custody, please bring along the custody decision as well.

 

When and where are the pre-registration days?

On St. Eustatius and Saba the pre-registration has started this week. From December 1st till 18th the pre-registration days are organized on Bonaire.
