Fire governors office

On Monday morning at 11:00 A.M. emergency services received a call regarding a building on fire on the cottage road. Emergency Service responded immediately to the scene and discovered that the residence adjacent to the building which houses several kingdom governmental services such as immigration and naturalization services, health insurance labor and social services. In order to ensure public safety the area was closed to the public as the fire department began their task of extinguishing the flames. The burning building which was being used partly as storage for locally established grocery store was quickly engulfed in flames which resulted in massive smoke clouds covering the immediate vicinity. The excess smoke resulted from the flammable materials stored at the residence cause the fire chief to advise for immediate evacuation of the surrounding building in the area which included Government Administration building, Police station, Eutel NV ,GVP School , Post office and Goldenrock School.

The Emergency Office was activated and the disaster team assembled to provide support and needed coordination and assistance. The fire was localized to the primary property in question with limited risk of spreading to adjacent properties. As a result of the intensity Nustar fire brigade was activated and provided assistance in fighting the fire by suppling additional manpower equipment and water, which was unavailable at adjacent fire hydrant due to maintenance work being done by STUCO. At approximately 1:00 pm all students were safely evacuated to the safe zone established at the nearby cottage ball park and were later sent home. Emergency health services and drinking water were made available at the safe zone and 6 students were brought to the hospital for additional treatment of respiratory issues and later released. The Fire Chief confirmed that there were no person inside the burning building and no immediate risk of casualties. The building owner was contacted to try to determine the exact contents of the material inside the building in order to further plan the most effective repressive action. At approximately 3:00 p.m. the area was again declared safe and traffic was restored to neighboring roads. Adjacent buildings were also declared safe for entry and the disaster committee advises Schoolboards that School could proceed as normal Tuesday November 12th 2015. The disaster committee would lie to thank all for their cooperation and prompt action in addressing the emergency.
