Library offers media literacy courses for teens and parents

The Philipsburg Jubilee Library would like to remind all teenagers and parents about a special new multimedia course at the Media Lab that is geared especially towards their needs. During this course you can learn about media literacy and safety online for teens, as well as how to support our teens in dealing with problems faced online.

The Media Lab instructor Lavern Nelson will be teaching on topics such as cyber bullying, social media addiction and online privacy. This course will deal with safety online, because this is an important issue as we live in the age of rapidly changing technology and social networking.

All teenagers, their parents and grandparents are invited to this new and exciting course which takes place in the Media Lab every Tuesday and Thursday at 5:00 pm. The sessions for teens will be on Tuesdays and for parents and grandparents will be on Thursdays. If you would like to register for this course, you can contact Francia Housen on telephone number 542 2970 or register via the website www.medialabsintmaarten.com.
