The LAB sports academy, hosted the 14th annual First Caribbean Bank Youth Tennis Tournament. This event was held at the Raoul Sport Complex Tennis Pavilion. A total of 38 athletes, boys and girls, took part in five different categories. These categories were:
- Beginners
- Under 10
- Under 13
- Under 15
- Open Class
We are happy to inform the general public that the female participation has once again increased. This was due to an additional after school program that has started. We hope this program continues, which will be a plus to all sports taking place on St. Maarten . The results of the competition held over the weekend are as followed.
In the girls beginners category, Shade Barry placed first, and Jugeldi Garcia in second place. In the boys beginners category, Leandro Barry placed first, and Pijush Mehershanbani placed second. In the girls Under 13 category, Ejanee Shillingford placed first, and second place Arti Grianchandar. In the boys Under 13, Ejomar Shillingford place first, and second Tristan Williams. In the girls Under 15 Category, first was Chantale Hughes, and the boys category was James Brooks was first place, and second place Kahile Pierre. Open class male category, first place was Leshawn Brown, and second place was Bradley Atyle.
Much thanks goes out to the First Caribbean Bank for sponsoring this event for the 14th consecutive time. The LAB sports academy is looking forward to their continued support in 2016. The next tournament will be the 6th Annual Princess Juliana International Youth Tennis Tournament, and this will take place in the ending month of September2015.
