MPs representing Sint Maarten at Health Care Conference Aruba

A delegation from Sint Maarten’s Parliament is currently in Aruba attending the Health Care Conference Aruba (HCCA) which is being held from June 1-3 at the Renaissance Convention Center.

President of Parliament Hon. Dr. Lloyd Richardson, Vice President MP Hon. Cornelius de Weever, MP Hon. George Pantophlet and MP Hon. Silveria Jacobs, are attending HCCA on behalf of parliament.
The HCCA initiative came out of one of the Inter-parliamentary Kingdom Consultations (IPKO), and is being executed by the respective ministers of public health within the Kingdom of the Netherlands in collaboration with stakeholders.

The main goal for the conference is to achieve/and or reinforce collaboration between the different Dutch Kingdom partners leading to the solution of common health care challenges.

The HCCA offers an opportunity to hold a broader discussion about health care, and to put questions and challenges in a broader perspective.  It is also a good opportunity to bring together health care professionals, policy makers and politicians in the hope to find each other and help each other to achieve the best solutions.

The four main areas under discussion during the three-day conference is a health care system in small communities, and the Caribbean region is used as the case example.
From production driven to quality driven health care; from compartmentalized to integrated care; and collaboration within and between the Dutch Kingdom partners.
