WICB expresses condolences at the passing of Perry George

ST. JOHN’S, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board wishes to express condolences at the passing of Perry George this past week.

Dominica-born George was the Dean of Administration at the University College of the Cayman Islands and for the last three years represented Association of Caribbean Tertiary Institutions at the annual general meetings of the WICB.

The ACTI is a Special Member of the WICB.

“Perry will be greatly missed and so I want to express condolences to his wife, children and the rest of his family on behalf of the directors, management and staff of the WICB,” said WICB President Whycliffe “Dave” Cameron.

“I will always remember the fun times we had when we played the game during my time studying in the Bahamas between 1990 and 1992.

“West Indies cricket has lost a huge supporter of the game in the Caymans. He believed that young people could learn many life lessons through playing cricket.”

George was an economist, information technology specialist and educator by training and served in several roles at the UCCI before he was appointed Dean of Administration six years ago. He had responsibility for operations, policymaking and implementation.

He also served as First Vice President for the ACTI, council member of the University of the West Indies (Mona and Open Campus) and was a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
