The St. Maarten Lions Club is very proud to announce the 7th annual Rudy Hoeve Health and Wellness Fair which is slated for March 21st 2015 at the Festival Village from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM under sole sponsorship of TELEM who has once again offered their support to this great project for the community.
Meetings with the stakeholders have already begun and all have indicated that they are ready to continue serving and providing much needed information on health and wellness to the community. We have added The Sickle Cell Foundation to the group of stakeholders, which include the Diabetes Foundation, the Mental Health Foundation, I & I Fitness, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Aids Foundation, SAFE, SXM Cancer Foundation, and WIEMS. The list of stakeholder. Some of these foundations have participated for the last 7 years, which indicates the usefulness of and need for such an event” said St. Maarten Lions Club President, Sunil (Sunny) Khatnani.
Another addition to this year’s Rudy Hoeve Health and Wellness Fair is the inclusion of information sessions on Youth Alcohol Use and its effects on the young brain. The St. Maarten Lions Club is passionate about not only increasing community awareness on the abuse of Alcohol by our youth, the club is also actively working on having the law amended to increase the legal drinking age on the island. A complete list of all participating stakeholders of this year’s Rudy Hoeve Health and Wellness Fair will be publicized as soon as it is complete.
