USFOL Volunteers Continue to Support Community-based Programs in Curacao

On January 15, 2015, ten men and women from the U.S. Forward Operating Location
(USFOL) visited the children and staff of Fuik Children’s Center to support their program
through sports and other activities. The Fuik Center provides an encouraging after-school
environment for children to get help with homework and focus on special skill-building
activities. The USFOL team spent the afternoon painting faces, decorating the center, and
interacting with the children and staff.
On January 22, 2015, nine volunteers from the USFOL visited the Siloam Orphanage to
donate money and 36 kilos of various items that the Orphanage needed. The volunteers spent
the afternoon with the staff and children, who have gotten to know the USFOL volunteers
during their community outreach programs. Siloam provides for children with a variety of
needs.
Community outreach activities at the Fuik Children’s Center, Siloam Orphanage, and other
programs express the USFOL’s long-standing appreciation for the hospitality they receive from
the citizens of Curacao.
