Start English training trajectory On St. Eustatius

Oranjestad – Director Francio Guadeloupe of the University of St. Martin (USM) visited St. Eustatius on January 8th  and 9th  to get acquainted with the education field. In assignment of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) the USM will be carrying out an assessment at the end of January, followed by a training trajectory for all teachers on St. Eustatius. The aim of this trajectory is to guarantee a sufficient command of Standard English by teachers as of August 2015, when all teaching will be done in Standard English. This trajectory is part of the transition to English as the language of instruction in Statian education. At the end of the training the teachers will sit an exam, to obtain the Cambridge English Examination Certificate .
