Fireworks

Prime Minister Marcel Gumbs was invited on Tuesday by the staff of the Court House to symbolically resume a tradition that has been put aside the last few years: lighting of a string of fireworks to close off the working year. Court House staff welcomed the Prime Minister with snacks and hugs and said the two-minute fireworks presentation was simply the resumption of something many businesses on Frontstreet used to do. With all safety precautions in place, the Prime Minister lit the string of fireworks. Several tourists and residents alike cheered at the end of the short display and shouted “Happy New Year!” The Prime Minister wished the Court House staff and their families a safe and Happy New Year.
