International Education Week: Presentation of U.S. College Book Series to SSC

Last week, U.S. Consul General James Moore presented a collection of reference books on higher education in the United States to Stichting Studiefinanciering Curaçao (SSC) Director Margit de Freitas. The books provide valuable information to students from Curaçao who wish to pursue higher education in the U.S., including information on college admissions, standardized tests, and college majors. The presentation is part of the U.S. Consulate General’s observance of International Education Week, which focused on the theme “International Education is for Everyone.”
According to SSC, the number of students from Curacao who receive government support to study in the U.S. has grown dramatically since 2012, the first year that financial assistance was provided for study in the region.
Consul General Moore commented: “Higher education institutions in the United States have long been recognized for their academic excellence, diversity, and attention to the unique needs of each student, which helps to ensure their success. We are thrilled that so many students from Curaçao are choosing to pursue their education goals in the United States, and we commend the SSC for their role in making this possible.”
Director of SSC de Freitas commented: “SSC is grateful to the U.S. Consulate General for their support as we prepare students for living and studying in the U.S. This book series will provide helpful and necessary information for our students. And we appreciate their work and flexibility in order to improve the U.S. visa application process.”
Education USA and the U.S. State Department sponsored virtual chats and virtual college fairs throughout the week for anyone interested in learning more about studying in the U.S. For more information, please visit and
