Port St. Maarten takes care of cruise passengers from Carnival Valor

On Saturday, November 8 Carnival Valor docked at the Dr. A.C. Wathey Cruise & Cargo Facility as part of its weekly call to Port St. Maarten.

Due to the inclement weather, the port provided cruise passengers with hundreds of poncho’s along with entertainment at the cruise facility in order to brighten their stay under grey skies.

Once the country-wide curfew went into effect at 12.00pm on Saturday, November 8, none of the cruise passengers and crew were permitted to leave the facility via taxi, walking or via water taxi.

Arrangements were in place for those who had already made their way to Philipsburg to return via water taxi after the curfew went into effect Saturday afternoon.  These services were available until 4.30pm.
